The 1914 Engagement Collection: A Harmonious Fusion of Nature and Craftmanship

The 1914 Engagement Collection is a testament to meticulous craftsmanship and thoughtful design. Each piece within the collection is born from a deep reverence for nature, with every curve, every setting, and every detail carefully considered to evoke both beauty and meaning.

Inspired by the tranquil landscapes of Hawke's Bay, the collection reflects the stunning vistas that stretch across the region, where nature's timeless beauty meets the rhythm of the land. The rolling hills, sweeping valleys, and coastal curves have all left their mark on this collection, creating pieces that are as enduring as the landscape itself.

A motif present throughout the entire collection is the signature four valley basket.  This design element features four graceful curves that hug tightly together, forming a supportive frame that mirrors the serene, winding valleys of the Te Mata Ranges and the expansive Heretaunga Plains. Just as these valleys gently embrace the land, the four-valley basket setting cradles the central stone, offering both protection and support.

Smooth, bold curves are celebrated in the twin band design, where two rounded bands embrace the central setting with a tight, structural hold. The fluidity of these curves is inspired by the rhythmic ebb and flow of the ocean waves that lap against the coastline of Hawke’s Bay. Just as the waves sculpt the shore over time, the twin bands form a dynamic yet harmonious relationship with the precious gems they support.
