I first spotted my dream (and future) McClurgs engagement ring on their Instagram in late 2021, but it wouldn't be until early 2023 when it would make its way onto my finger!
The Marina ring caught my eye and I knew it was exactly what I had always hoped for. Many hints were dropped and when I found out that Sam and I were heading to Napier in October 2022 for a work trip, I knew it was my chance to 'pop' into McClurgs in person.
The team were so welcoming and helpful from the moment we walked in the door. We had such a warm feeling, and this contributed to the pressure I put on Sam that this is the one!
I kept checking the McClurgs website frequently to see that the Marina was still 'available'. I remember it was just before Christmas, and I checked and it said SOLD. I couldn't believe it - someone else had purchased it! Little known to me, Sam had purchased it a couple of weeks after our visit to Napier, but the McClurgs team had kindly kept it on their website as Sam knew I would be checking.
The engagement really caught me off guard, but when Sam pulled the box out of his pocket and I spotted the McClurgs logo on top - to say I was delighted is an understatement.

Following our proposal, Sam purchased some beautiful wee Topaz McClurgs studs which compliment my ring perfectly and are now my daily earring of choice.
